What we believe
New York City is increasingly less affordable and less livable.
Yet, City Hall’s agenda does not include a plan to save NYCHA, could increase taxes on homeowners through higher property taxes, and caps vouchers for renters. We demand that City Hall keep its promises to the people and reverse its plans to harm these everyday New Yorkers.
Our mission
The New York Neighborhoods Coalition brings together dozens of existing community, civic, and small business organizations from all around the five boroughs to hold the mayor accountable and address City Hall’s lack of support for homeowners, renters, and our neighborhoods.
Support homeowners

Cap property tax increases.

Address affordability and financial burden for working class homeowners by boosting funds for programs that reduce the cost of homeownership.

Protect New Yorkers’ ability to keep their homes by creating new rules and programs to prevent foreclosure and deed theft.
Save NYCHA

Increase direct funding for public housing maintenance, repair and renovation.

Support NYCHA residents with critical services, such as healthcare, food insecurity, childcare, and benefits registration programs.

Give residents a seat at the table to guide their own future with more representation in NYCHA leadership.
Protect renters

Increase funding for FHEPS rental vouchers by supporting Local Law 102 of 2025.

Invest more in affordable housing subsidy to ensure new apartments are built and renters can more easily find housing.

Improve programs to preserve affordable housing through direct funding and incentive programs.
